Prince George Inner City boxer Kenny Lally (56 Kilos) is hoping to qualify for the 2015 Pan Am Games. Lally heads to Kelowna this week to attend a Western Canadian Training Camp. The camp will help prepare Team West for the National Championships October 28 through November 1st in Toronto. Lally gave up his National Team spot last year and is now looking to get it back. The current National Crown holder in his weight class is Francois Pratt. Once the Canadian Championships are complete, two fighters from each weight class will be invited to the Pan Am Training Camp where one will be selected.

–The Prince George Cougars cut 17-year-old goalie Matt Kustra and 16-year-old forward Kolby Johnson to reduce their roster to 27 players (2 goalies, 10 defencemen and 15 forwards). Kustra and Johnson will play in the SJHL.

–The Prince George Cougars, P.G. Spruce Kings and the Cariboo Cougars all start their regular season on Saturday. The P.G. Cougars play their opener in Portland while the Spruce Kings meet Nanaimo at the BCHL Showcase. The Cariboo Cats host the Valley West Hawks Saturday at 3pm and Sunday at 11:15am at Kin 1.

–The UNBC Timberwolves will play Canada West soccer games Friday and Saturday at Fraser Valley.
