Prince George has been nationally recognized for its efforts in marketing economic growth.
Move Up PG is the recipient of the Advertising Campaign Award by the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC).
City Development Officer Keenan Hopson says the website started as a job-search engine.
“We wanted to expand it to show what Prince George has to offer with education, community pride, living, what to do in the city if you’re a newcomer moving for a job or for whatever reason in hopes of attracting and retaining the population.”
Hopson encourages the public to write their story on the website to share the Northern capital experience.
“Vancouver gets all the limelight and sometimes Prince George goes unnoticed. So it’s good to tell others, ‘You know what, Prince George is a great place to live.’ We have a lot to offer and maybe we can attract someone from the Lower Mainland.”
