PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Prince George Cougars play three games in Alberta in less than 48 hours.

The 3-5-2 Cougars visit 4-6-2 Edmonton tonight (Friday), 5-4 Red Deer Saturday and 3-6-1 Calgary Sunday afternoon.

Prince George is starting a string of seven consecutive games on the road.

Victoria, 11 games = 9-1-1 (19 points)
Kelowna, 10 games = 4-4-1-1 (10 points)

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

It’s the Spruce Kings against the Kings tonight in Powell River as Prince George starts an Island road trip.

Powell River is first in the Island Division with an 8-3-1 record.

The 7-4-2-1 Spruce Kings also face 6-5-1-1 Alberni Valley Saturday and 5-7-0-1 Nanaimo Sunday.

Langley, 15 games = 6-3-6 (18 points)

The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars face off against the 2-4 Thompson Blazers Saturday night and Sunday morning in Kamloops.

The 5-2-1 Cougars are riding a six-game unbeaten streak.

Los Angeles Kings centre Jeff Carter has been sidelined for an indefinite period. Carter underwent surgery to repair a cut on his left leg.

 

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

(Canada West Men’s Soccer)

The UNBC men’s soccer team remains in contention for a playoff berth after TRU beat UBC Okanagan 1-0 Thursday in Kelowna.

The Timberwolves, who finished 5-5-6 in their regular season, will advance to the post-season if UBCO (5-6-5) doesn’t win the rematch with TRU (6-3-5) Saturday afternoon in Kamloops and if Victoria earns three points or less in its last two games.

Victoria plays at Fraser Valley (4-7-3) this evening and at Trinity Western (6-4-4) Saturday night.

A win is worth three points.

(Canada West Women’s Soccer)

The 3-7-2 UNBC Lady Timberwolves visit TRU Saturday at noon in Kamloops and UBC Okanagan Sunday at 1 in Kelowna on the final weekend of the Canada West soccer regular season.

The UNBC women can secure a playoff spot with a win against TRU.

The Riders can clinch a playoff spot with a win of if the 6-9 BC Lions lose at home Saturday against the 9-6 Edmonton Eskimos.
