The Prince George Salvation Army has received a generous boost from a national bank foundation.
RBC has donated $10,000 to the not-for-profit’s food distribution centre on 18th Avenue.

Manager Bill Glasgow says the facility caters to more than 1,200 families every year.
“We do more than 450 hampers every year, and we will find that the shelves will deplete very quickly, so having this donation helps us get through the very busy Christmas season.”
RBC’s Vice-President for BC North Tim Carmack says all of the money is coming from corporate.
“We knew that there would be significant demand going into the winter season, so we wanted to make sure that they had funds to stalk their shelves, and we have a foundation that is strictly there for giving.”
Glasgow adds the Salvation Army is already gearing up for a busy winter, given the sudden drop in weather conditions.
