Early work on a Kitimat LNG project underway

Development of an LNG project in Kitimat is moving along. The project is a 50-50 split between Chevron and Apache and aims to be the largest resource project in Canadian history. Chevron Spokesperson Gillian Robinson says early site work near Bish Cove is underway.

“And we’ve also been doing early works on the Pacific Trail Pipeline on the Western portion,” says Robinson, “and full construction of the project won’t begin until the project does reach a final investement decision.”

Robinson says a time line on that is not available. She says the project is expected to employ 5000 for its construction.
