With seven goals and three assists in just five games, Prince George Spruce Kings sniper Justin Rai is the leading scorer in the BCHL. Cole Todd of P.G. is tied for 3rd with eight points (2G & 6A) while Jeremiah Luedtke is also in the top 10 with seven (1G & 6A). Two other Spruce Kings are averaging at least a point a game; Jake LeBrun
(2G & 4A) and Chad Staley (2G & 3A).

–The 4-1 Spruce Kings host the 4-0 Chilliwack Chiefs in their home opener Friday. The same two teams also meet Saturday at the PG Coliseum.

–The 1-3 Prince George Cougars conclude a three game homestand tonight (Tuesday) when they entertain the 2-2 Swift Current Broncos. Pre-game show begins at 6:30 on the Goat 94.3.

–The third annual Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament raised $62,190.20 towards the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Funds will be directed towards the purchase of a $1.4 million SPECT CT Scanner. Over the past three years, this event has raised a total of $130,477.05 towards healthcare in the North. 180 golfers and 26 alumni participated in the 2014 event which was held July 18th and 19th at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.

–With just four games left in their season, the UNBC Timberwolves continue to struggle in Canada West Soccer. The UNBC men are 1-7 while the Lady T-wolves are 0-6-2 with their final home action this weekend against Trinity Western University. Games will be played Saturday and Sunday at noon and 2:15 p.m. at the Rotary fields.
