Spruce Kings stumble against Warriors

The comeback attempt came too late for the Spruce Kings.

After falling 4-0 early in the third period, Prince George could only salvage two goals to cut the deficit in half, losing by a score of 4-2 to the West Kelowna Warriors.

The visitors scored late in the second, followed by three goals within the first four minutes of the final frame.

Forward Dustin Manz ended the Warriors’ shutout hopes on a power-play for his eighth goal of the 2017-18 season.

Captain Kyle Johnson scored with 22 seconds left in regulation time with an extra man on the ice.

In his second-straight appearance, Spruce Kings goaltender Evan DeBrouwer made 29 saves on 33 shots in the loss as his team drops to a record of 12-10-2-3.

Prince George continues their eight-game homestand at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA) this Friday and Saturday against the Coquitlam Express.
