PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Tigers broke open a 1-1 tie by scoring with 16 seconds left in the first period and adding three more unanswered goals in the first three-and-a-half minutes of the second.

Medicine Hat has won its last 10 games in Prince George, dating back 10 years.

The Tigers took Tuesday’s game 7-4 at the CN Centre.

Kody McDonald scored twice and added an assist for the 9-11-2-2 Cougars, who play Saturday in Kamloops and Wednesday in Kelowna before hosting the Vancouver Giants December 1st and 2nd.

MIDGET HOCKEY:

Play begins Friday morning and runs through Sunday at the Prince George Midget Tier 1 hockey tournament.

The host Coast Inn Cougars are one of five teams entered.

Games will be played at the Kin and CN Centres.

The 14-3-1 Cariboo Cougars resume action on December 2nd and 3rd when they host the Okanagan Rockets at Kin 1.

 

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the MacEwan Griffins Friday and Saturday in Canada West basketball.

The Lady T-wolves are 3-5 while the UNBC men sit 2-6.

Both MacEwan men and women are 1-5.

 

SPEED SKATING:

The Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club hosts the Central Interior Challenge and Zone Eight trials for the 2018 BC Winter Games Saturday at Kin 1.

95 speed skaters will compete, coming as far south as Kamloops, and as far north as Fort St. John.

The Winter Games are scheduled for Kamloops February 22nd to 25th.

 

NFL:

Three NFL games today (American Thanksgiving):

CFL:

The CFL’s most outstanding player award will be handed out tonight in Ottawa as part of Grey Cup week.

The nominees are quarterbacks Mike Reilly of the Edmonton Eskimos and Ricky Ray of the Toronto Argonauts.

Reilly led the league with 5,536 passing yards while Ray had a 70.7% completion average.

Sunday’s Grey Cup game between the Argos and Calgary Stampeders will begin at 3:30PM.
