PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Prince George Cougars have completed exactly 1/3 of their 72-game regular season schedule.

The 9-11-2-2 Cougars are two points behind the third place Vancouver Giants in the BC Division and they also sit two points out of a wild-card playoff spot.

The Cougars only game this weekend will be played Saturday in Kamloops against the 9-13 Blazers.

 

WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE:

BC DIVISION STANDINGS:

Victoria, 25 games = 16-8-1 (33 points)
Kelowna, 23 games = 12-8-2-1 (27 points)
Vancouver, 24 games = 10-10-2-2 (24 points)
Prince George, 24 games = 9-11-2-2 (22 points)
Kamloops, 22 games = 9-13 (18 points)

Seattle, 22 games = 11-9-1-1 (24 points)
Everett, 25 games = 11-12-1-1 (24 points)

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

The 12-10-2-3 Prince George Spruce Kings have a pair of home games tonight and Saturday against the 3-19-1-1 Coquitlam Express.

The Spruce Kings are fourth in the Mainland Division, but just a point behind Chilliwack and two back of Surrey.

MAINLAND DIVISION STANDINGS:

Langley, 27 games = 13-5-9 (35 points)
Surrey, 27 games = 14-10-2-1 (31 points)
Chilliwack, 28 games = 13-11-2-2 (30 points)

MIDGET HOCKEY:

The Prince George Coast Inn Cougars are hosting their annual Midget Tier 1 hockey tournament today to Sunday at the Kin and CN Centres.

Five teams are entered with the top two to advance to the Sunday 1PM final at Kin 2.

The 14-3-1 Cariboo Cougars have the weekend off.

They will be back in action December 2nd and 3rd at Kin 1 with home games against the Okanagan Rockets.

NHL:

The 11-8-3 Vancouver Canucks visit the 12-5-4 New Jersey Devils tonight.

The Canucks are 8-3 on the road.

 

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

The UNBC Timberwolves are on the road to play the MacEwan Griffins in Canada West basketball tonight and Saturday.

UNBC is 3-5 (W) and 2-6 (M) while MacEwan sits 1-5 in both the women’s and men’s standings.

 

SPEED SKATING:

The Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club welcomes nearly 100 skaters to the Central Interior Challenge and BC Winter Games Zone Eight trials Saturday at Kin 1.

The 2018 BC Winter Games will be held February 22nd to 25th in Kamloops.

CFL:

Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly has been named the CFL’s most outstanding player beating out Toronto Argonauts QB Ricky Ray for the award.

Reilly led the league with 5,536 passing yards.

The 105th Grey Cup game will be played in Ottawa Sunday at 3:30 (PST) with the Calgary Stampeders favored by seven over the Argos.

 

NBA:

The 11-6 Toronto Raptors visit the Indiana Pacers tonight and the Atlanta Hawks Saturday.
