The Prince George Cougars blasted the Spokane Chiefs 6-2 to improve their record to 3-3. David Soltes and Jari Erricson scored twice and Chase Witala added a goal and three assists for the Cougars, who play today (Sunday) in Vancouver.

–The Chilliwack Chiefs came from behind to edge the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1 in overtime before 1,182 fans at the Coliseum. The Spruce Kings picked up three out of a possible four points in the weekend doubleheader as PG won the Friday game 6-4. The Spruce Kings are 5-1-0-1 while the Chiefs sit 5-1.

–The Cariboo Cougars suffered their first loss of the season 3-2 to the Greater Vancouver Canadians. The same teams meet again today (Sunday) at 11:30am at Kin 1.

–Brandon Wallace scored three goals for the UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team in a 5-3 victory over the Trinity Western University Spartans. In the women’s game, TWU blanked the Lady Timberwolves 2-0. The same teams meet again today (Sunday) in Prince George at noon and 2:15 in the T-wolves final home soccer games of the season.

–The UNBC basketball teams each played three games at a tournament in Edmonton. The UNBC men went 2-1 while the Lady Timberwolves finished 1-2. Game results are listed below.

–The UNBC men beat Red Deer 84-65 and NAIT 88-67 before losing to Mount Royal 82-71.

–The UNBC women lost 59-40 to MacEwan and 70-39 to Alberta before posting a 63-59 triumph over Red Deer.

–In the Northern High School Football League: Duchess Park crushed Nechako Valley 42-8 and Correlieu whipped College Heights 54-7.
