This is the fifth straight loss for the Cougars before 2,774 fans at the CN Centre.

Tyler Benson scored twice, one into an empty net, and added an assist for the Giants who built up leads of 3-0 and 4-1 in the second period.

Jared Bethune, Josh Anderson, and Josh Maser tallied for the Cougars who host the Giants again tonight.

In front of 1,076 fans at the RMCA, first star Evan DeBrouwer made 30 saves for the Spruce Kings who are 4-1 on an eight game home-stand, which continues tonight against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

In a swap of defencemen, the Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired 20-year-old Tyson Slater from the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in return for 18-year-old Luc Salem.

Slater has six assists in 27 games this season.

Tonight’s game will feature the Eighth Annual Jameson Jones Night in support of the BC Children’s Hospital.

The Major Midget Cougars are two points behind the first place (15-2-1) Valley West Hawks.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL:

The Duchess Park Condors will play the College Heights Cougars in the bronze medal game today at the Provincial Boys AA Volleyball Championship in Langley.

Langley Christian beat Duchess Park 3-1 and Abby Christian knocked off College Heights 3-1 in the semi-finals of
the 16-team tournament.

College Heights lost to Notre Dame in the round of 16 before winning a consolation round match over Charles Hayes at the BC Girls AA Volleyball Championship in Vanderhoof.

College Heights can finish as high as ninth.

Host Nechako Valley lost a pair of matches Friday to slip down to the group that will play for 13th to 16th.

The gold medal match is scheduled for tonight at 6:30PM.
