–The Prince George Cougars got 10 points from their big line as they blew away the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-2. Jari Erricson scored twice and added two assists, Chase Witala notched a goal and two assists and Jansen Harkins racked up three assists as the Cougars improved to 4-4 before 1,960 fans. P.G. put the game away with three unanswered goals in the second period. Erricson, Witala and Harkins have a combined 24 points in their last four games. The Cougars host the 4-2 Vancouver Giants Friday and Saturday.

–The Red Deer Rebels have been selected by the WHL Board of Governors to host the 2016 Mastercard Memorial Cup (May 19-29, 2016). The Rebels were chosen over the Vancouver Giants application. This marks the first time Red Deer has landed the Memorial Cup while the Rebels become the first Alberta-based Club to host the event since 1974.

–A pair of BCHL Mainland Division teams meet at the PG Coliseum. The 5-1-0-1 Prince George Spruce Kings entertain the 2-3-0-1 Langley Rivermen tonight (Thursday) and Friday. The Spruce Kings are a point ahead of 5-1 Chilliwack.

–The 4-1-1 Major Midget Cariboo Cougars visit the North Island Silvertips Saturday and Sunday in Nanaimo.

–The Jon Bragg Senior Boys Volleyball Tournament is featured at College Heights Secondary. Play begins Friday at 3:30 with the gold medal match Saturday at 3. Eight teams compete, all from PG.

–The UNBC Timberwolves wrap up their season in Canada West Soccer as they visit the last place TRU WolfPack Friday and Saturday in Kamloops.
