A Giant trade sees Morrison head to Lethbridge

Brad Morrison of Prince George is on the move again.

In a swap of overage players, the Vancouver Giants traded Morrison to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for defenceman Brennan Riddle.

Morrison was drafted by the Prince George Cougars seventh overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.

After spending four years with the Cougars, Morrison notched 35 points (11G, 24A) and 33 penalty minutes in 42 games this season with the Giants.

In 302 career games with the Cougars and Giants, the 6’0”, 171-pound winger has registered 223 points (96G, 127A) along with 169 penalty minutes.

Morrison was drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth-round (108th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, but is an unsigned free agent.

Riddle was acquired at the start of the 2016-17 season by the Hurricanes from the Prince Albert Raiders.

In 37 games this season, he has six points (1G, 5A) along with 36 penalty minutes.

The Giants play a doubleheader in Prince George against the Cougars Tuesday and Wednesday.

The WHL trade deadline is Wednesday afternoon at 2PM.
