–Ty Edmonds was the first star for the second straight night as the Prince George Cougars doubled the Vancouver Giants 2-1 for the second consecutive evening. Edmonds stopped 36 shots in front of 2,469 fans to help the Cougars improve to 6-4. David Soltes and Chase Witala scored third period power play goals for the Cats, who have won four straight home games for the first time since December, 2006. It was just the third time in franchise history, the Cougars have beaten the Giants in a back-to-back weekend double header at home.

–The PG Cougars visit Seattle Friday and Vancouver Saturday before they host Brandon on Wednesday, Oct 22.

–The Cariboo Cougars doubled the North Island Silvertips 4-2 to improve to 5-1-1 in the BC Major Midget League. The teams meet again today (Sunday) in Nanaimo.

–In Canada West Soccer: The TRU Wolfpack of Kamloops beat the UNBC Timberwolves, 3-0 in the men’s game and 6-3 in women’s action (Saturday). The TRU men swept the doubleheader in Kamloops as they also posted a 1-0 victory in the opener (Friday). The Lady T-wolves beat TRU in the opener (Friday). UNBC completes its season with a 3-9 record in the men’s standings and a 1-9-2 mark in the women’s standings.

–The Host College Heights Cougars won their own Jon Bragg Senior Boys Volleyball tournament. College Heights edged DP Todd 3-2 in the final of the eight-team event, taking the 5th and deciding game 15-12.
