Charges laid in drug investigation last fall

Federal Crown Counsel has approved charges in relation to a drug investigation in Prince George last fall.

PG resident Kenneth Daniel Kirkpatrick, 37, has been charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Unauthorized Possession of a non-restricted Firearm, and Careless Use of a Firearm.

On Wednesday, October 11th, 2017, PG RCMP‘s Street crew Unit arrested a man in a parking lot on Ospika Boulevard who was in possession of heroin, cocaine, and a small amount of cash.

Officers then executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on the 1600 block of Harper Drive where large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and cash was seized.

A second search warrant was later executed at a residence on Mullet Crescent where officers found a loaded shotgun, a large amount of cash, a vehicle, and the following drugs:

  • 507 grams of methamphetamine;
  • 243 grams of Fentanyl;
  • 395 grams of a combination of heroin and fentanyl;
  • and 109 grams of cocaine

The estimated street value is in excess of $200,000.

Kirkpatrick was arrested on an unrelated matter on January 16th, 2018, and will appear in court later today.
