PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Hurricanes hit the jackpot with four goals in the second period, the first three of which came in the first five minutes.

On a night the Mega 50/50 Jackpot reached $94,647, Lethbridge captain Jordy Bellerive notch a hat trick while former Cougar Brad Morrison added a Gordie Howe hat trick.

Morrison scored a highlight reel goal and added an assist to go along with a fight.

Josh Curtis scored both goals for the Cougars before a season-high crowd of 5,138 at the CN Centre.

The 17-23-4-3 Cougars will try to end a three-game losing streak when they host the Hurricanes again tonight at 7PM.

The Spruce Kings got goals a minute and a half apart from Ben Poisson and Ben Brar in the second period.

Evan DeBrouwer made 24 saves for Prince George before 1,104 fans at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA).

Vernon outshot the hosts 25-16.

The 22-14-4-4 Spruce Kings have moved into sole possession of top spot in the Mainland Division, two points ahead of Langley and Surrey.

PG will host the 22-13-4-4 Powell River Kings Sunday at 3PM.

The Cariboo Cougars have home games in Fort St. James tonight at 5PM and Sunday at 10AM against the 10-11-1-3 Vancouver NE Chiefs.

The 19-5-2 Major Midget Cougars are in second place with 14 regular season games remaining, four points behind the 21-3-2 Valley West Hawks and two ahead of the 18-6-1-1 Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.

NFL:

The NFL Conference championship games kick off on Sunday.

In the AFC, the Jacksonville Jaguars visit the New England Patriots (12:05PM).

In the NFC, the Minnesota Vikings play the Eagles in Philadelphia (3:40PM).

The Patriots are favoured by seven-and-a-half,while the Vikings are three-point favourites.
