Lucky Man Walks Away From Cougars Mega 50/50 with $47,324

A 24-year-old from Vancouver walked away a rich man last night.

Parker McLean was the winner of the Mega 50/50 Jackpot at the cougars game, which totalled $94,648 and he took home a whopping $47,324 of it.

McLean’s not sure what he’s going to do with all that money.

“I think I’m going to have to save it and maybe put down a deposit on a house, because a of course n Vancouver it’s a little bit expensive to buy a house. So maybe it’ll go towards that.”

He was in town because he’s taking part in a five year mission with Science World to go to elementary schools across the province to demonstrate science experiments to students.

McLean decided to buy a ticket after he found out it was a fundraiser for 18 different non-profits.

“It’s apart of the reason why I bought the ticket, because we were at the art gallery last night, the Two Rivers, and I heard that they were one of the organizations the money was going to and I couldn’t wait to contribute.”

The other $47,324 will go to:

  • Prince George Search and Rescue
  • Two Rivers Gallery = Maker Lab
  • Canadian Cancer Society = Cops Tour de North
  • PG Folkfest Society = Coldsnap
  • YMCA of Northern BC = Foundry PG
  • Big Brother Big Sisters = Community Shuttles
  • School District 57 (SD57) = Frozen Warriors Program
  • The Exploration Place
  • Elder Citizens Recreation Association
