Hart Highlands Winter Club celebrates World Snow Day

A ruckus box for the public and demos, a Dual Panel Slalom for kids and parents, and a BBQ lunch is how the Hart Highlands Winter Club chose to observe World Snow Day.

“We’ve got tents set up for the kids to play games, there are hamburgers and hotdogs, it’s a real community event,” explains President Bernadette Kipping.

“We’ve even got the different ski clubs here.”

Dan Hadley is the Program Director and Head Coach of the Prince George Ski Club.

He says the event bringing new faces to the hill.

“It’s a very exciting day, there’s a lot of people here, we’re getting lots of new people that we’re introducing to the ski club and to racing and to the Hart Highlands,” he says.

“In my opinion, it’s a very successful day.”

The Hart Highlands has had similar daylong celebrations with family-oriented fun but this was the first time the club hosted an event for World Snow Day.
