The Chilliwack Chiefs scored three unanswered goals in the second period to upend the Prince George Spruce Kings 3-2. Justin Rai and former PG Cougar Raymond Grewal tallied a goal and an assist on the power play for the 6-3-0-1 Spruce Kings, who slip two points behind the first place Chiefs in the BCHL Mainland Division. Alex Brooks-Potts had 31 saves for PG as Chilliwack outshot the guests 34-30 before 1,966 fans.

–Spruce Kings sniper Justin Rai has taken over the BCHL scoring lead with 17 points, including 10 goals. Former PG minor hockey product, Liam Blackburn of the West Kelowna Warriors, also has 17 points, but just 6 goals.

–The P.G. Spruce Kings continue on the road when they visit Powell River Friday, Nanaimo Saturday and Alberni Valley Sunday.

–The Kelowna Rockets, the top ranked team in the CHL, are off to a 9-0 start following a 6-4 win in Kamloops.

–The Prince George Cougars play five of their next six games on the road starting Friday in Seattle and continuing Saturday in Vancouver. The 6-4 Cougars host Brandon on Wednesday, October 22nd. The Cougars are tied with Tri-City for 4th in the WHL Western Conference, a point back of Kamloops, two in front of Spokane and three ahead of Seattle and Victoria.

–The 6-1-1 Major Midget Cariboo Cougars play in Chase Saturday and Sunday against the 0-6 Thompson Blazers.

–The Prince George Northland Dodge Female Cougars host the Fraser Valley Phantom in three league games at Kin 1; Friday at 6:45 pm, Saturday at 2:15 pm and Sunday at 8:45 am. The Cougars and Phantom are tied for first in the BC Hockey FMAAA league with seven wins and two losses each.

–The BC High School Boys Volleyball rankings are out. Cedars Christian is ranked 4th in Single A, College Heights is 10th and DP Todd is an Honorable Mention in Double A.
