Time, place named for BC Poverty Reduction meeting in Prince George

Prince George is hosting BC’s Poverty Reduction Strategy in under two weeks, and a time and place has officially been set.

On Saturday, February 17th, the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction will meet at the Native Friendship Centre on Third Avenue, 1:30PM to 4PM, to converse with local residents and community members.

The goal of the meeting is to hear feedback from the public on how they picture poverty in the region, and how it’s best to reduce the numbers.

Minister Shane Simpson has said the North is on a different level of poverty compared to the rest of BC, but hearing from every corner of the province is critical to the research.
