City crews starting to clear residential streets

City crews have started clearing Priority Three routes, which include residential roads, after the massive snowfall we experienced.

Their main focus tonight will be clearing areas west of Kelly Road, north of Highland Drive and near Driftwood Road in the Hart neighbourhood.

In the bowl crews will be in the Heritage and Pinewood neighbourhoods, as well as the southern end of Ospika.

The city is also continuing to remove windrows from downtown streets and will clear those through the night when traffic is less dense.

People are being reminded about the parking restrictions in place until April 15, which include:

  • On-street parking is prohibited from midnight to 7:00am downtown.
  • On-street parking is prohibited from 10:00pm to 7:00am on Priority One roads and hills, the Hospital District, and a number of other designated roads.
  • On-street parking is prohibited from 8:00am to 6:00pm in residential areas. Parking on the side of the street with odd house numbers is permitted from 6:00pm to 8:00am unless otherwise posted.
  • Illegally parked vehicles are subject to a $50 ticket per offence and/or may be towed.

The city wants to remind residents that due to the amount of snow it will take longer to clear all routes.
