Environment Canada clears the air about recent conditions in Prince George

Unlike their neighbors in nearby Vanderhoof, Prince George is not under an air quality advisory according to Environment Canada.

This is a bit of a surprise, given the recent conditions according to Meteorologist Chris Emond.

“It’s been very cold so you see an inversion setting up and ventilate into the upper atmosphere where everything gets trapped in so we good conditions for that but we’re also getting some snow so that may help things a bit.”

“Right now Prince George is in the moderate category, the provincial ministry has not issued an advisory for the city at this time.”

A small amount of snowfall is expected for the city today, with two to four centimetres predicted to fall.

Similar amounts are also expected for Thursday and Friday.

Predicted daily temperatures should fall in the minus two and zero degree range for the weekend.
