The 7-5 Prince George Cougars are home tonight against the 8-2-1 Brandon Wheat Kings as the Cats start a stretch of four games in five nights. The Wheat Kings, who are starting a seven game road trip, lead the WHL East Division. The Cougars also visit 3-7-1 Red Deer Friday, Edmonton Saturday and Calgary Sunday. P.G. is 5th in the WHL Western Conference, a point behind Kamloops & Everett, but just a point ahead of Victoria, two in front of Vancouver, three up on Spokane and four ahead of 9th place Seattle.

–Jansen Harkins of the P.G. Cougars is tied for 4th in WHL in points with 17 (3 goals and 14 assists. Linemate Chase Witala is tied for 12th with 15 points (6 goals, 9 assists).
The third member of the top line, Jari Erricson (8 goals, 4 assists) is 28th with 12 points in as many games.

–The 8-4-0-1 Prince George Spruce Kings play their next three games at home starting Thursday against the 10-1 Penticton Vees. The Spruce Kings also entertain Trail Saturday and Powell River Sunday. Prince George is in 2nd place in the BCHL Mainland Division, 2 points behind 9-1-0-1 Chilliwack.

-–Spruce Kings sniper Justin Rai is tied for 3rd in BCHL scoring lead with 19 points, including 10 goals. Former PG minor hockey product, Liam Blackburn of the West Kelowna Warriors leads with 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists).
Jeremiah Luedtke of the Spruce Kings is tied for 7th with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) while Chad Staley of PG (7 goals, 9 assists) is tied for 9th with 16 points. Penticton doesn’t have any players in the top 15 although the Vees have the league best record at 10-1.

–The 8-1-1 Major Midget Cariboo Cougars host the 4-6 South Island Royals Saturday at 7:15pm and Sunday at 9:30am at Kin 1. Cariboo is in first place in the BCMML by a point over the Vancouver North West Giants, although the 8-0 Giants have two games in hand.

–The UNBC Timberwolves gear up for their Canada West basketball season by playing exhibition games in Winnipeg starting on Friday. The Timberwolves open their regular season with home games vs. TRU Nov 7th & 8th.
