The Prince George Cougars suffered their 4th straight loss as they fell 5-1 to the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Oil Kings scored three unanswered goals in the second and added two more insurance markers in the third. The 7-8 Cougars conclude an Alberta road trip this afternoon (Sunday) in Calgary.

–The Prince George Spruce Kings broke open a tight game with three unanswered goals in the third period to beat the Trail Smoke Eaters 4-1 before 1,127 fans at the Coliseum. Brent Lashuk scored twice (the last into an empty net) and Raymond Grewal notched two assists for the 9-4-0-2 Spruce Kings who host Powell River this afternoon (Sunday) at 3.

–The Cariboo Cougars won their 6th straight game, 7-2 over the South Island Royals in the first of a double-header. Cariboo is in first place in the BCMML with a record of 9-1-1, a point ahead of the 9-0 Vancouver NW Giants, who have two games in hand. The Cougars-Royals rematch goes this morning (Sunday) at 9:30am at Kin 1.
