–Prince George Cougars 16-year-old goalie Tavin Grant has his first WHL win in his second start. Grant stopped 26 of 28 shots to lead the Cougars to a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen as the Cats ended a four game losing streak. Earlier on the Alberta road trip, the Cougars lost 6-3 in Red Deer (Friday) and 5-1 (Saturday) in Edmonton. The Cougars built up a 3-0 lead early in the third period in Calgary and held on to even their record to 8-8. The Cougars start an 8 game homestand against Kamloops Saturday (Nov 1) at 7 and Sunday (Nov 2) at 2.

–Brett Magnus had 44 saves to lead the Powell River Kings to a 3-2 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings before 847 fans at the Coliseum. Prince George outshot Powell River 46-18, including 29-8 over the final two periods. The 9-5-0-2 Spruce Kings split their weekend home games as they beat Trail 4-1 Saturday thanks to three unanswered goals in the third. The Spruce Kings play Wednesday in Coquitlam and Thursday in Langley with their next home game on November 12th against Vernon.

–The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars had their six game win streak end with a 7-3 loss to the South Island Royals at Kin 1. The two teams split a double-header as Cariboo won the Saturday game 7-2. The 9-2-1 Cougars are in second place in the BCMML behind the 10-0 Vancouver North West Giants. Cariboo will visit the Kootenay Ice Saturday and Sunday (Nov 1 and 2) with the Cats next home games against Fraser Valley Nov 8 and 9.

–The D.P. Todd Trojans senior boys volleyball team tied for 9th out of 22 with an overall 5-1 record at the TRU Senior Howler tournament in Kamloops. The next tournament for D.P. Todd and College Heights senior boys will be the George Elliott Coyote Classic in Winfield.

–In the senior boys volleyball Provincial Rankings, Cedars Christian is ranked 2nd in Single A, while D.P. Todd is 10th and College Heights an Honorable Mention in Double A.

–Host College Heights Junior A1 beat College Heights Junior A2 (25-17, 25-19) in the final of the Spooktacular boys volleyball tournament. Duchess Park Senior placed 3rd out of 10.
