Prince George Inner City fighter Kenny Lally steps into the ring this week at the Boxing Canada Elite Championships (today to Saturday) in Mississauga, Ontario. The 25-year-old Lally, a five-time National champion, is one of six entered in the 56 Kilos weight class. He is part of the 12-member Western Canadian team (with 8 from BC) that is coached by Bob Pegues of Inner City.

–The UNBC Timberwolves played exhibition basketball games in Winnipeg as a tune-up for their Canada West season that begins at home November 7th and 8th against TRU. The UNBC men beat Winnipeg 89-88 and lost to Manitoba 91-79. The Lady
Timberwolves went 0-3 as they fell 70-56 to Winnipeg, 81-43 to Jamestown, North Dakota and 61-47 to Manitoba.

–The 8-8 Prince George Cougars play their next 8 on home ice starting with a double against the Kamloops Blazers Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2 at CN Centre. Jansen Harkins, Chase Witala and Jari Ericcson of the Cougars are in the
WHL top 25 of scoring and Ericcson is tied for the lead in goals with 10. Prince George is 6th in the WHL Western Conference, tied in points with 5th place Tri-City, but the Americans have a game in hand.

–The 9-5-0-2 Prince George Spruce Kings play their next five games on the road; two of them this week against BCHL Mainland Division opponents. The Spruce Kings visit the 3-10-0-2 Coquitlam Express Wednesday and the 5-4-1-3 Langley Rivermen Thursday. Prince George is second in the Mainland, a point behind the Chilliwack Chiefs.

–Spruce Kings sniper Justin Rai is 6th in BCHL scoring
with 21 points, including 10 goals. Former PG minor hockey product, Liam Blackburn of the West Kelowna Warriors leads with 28 points (8 goals, 20 assists). Jeremiah Luedtke of the Spruce Kings is 10th with 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) while Chad Staley of PG (9 goals, 9 assists) is 12th with 18 points.

–The 9-2-1 Major Midget Cariboo Cougars visit the 2-8 Kootenay Ice Saturday and Sunday. Cariboo is in 2nd place, a point behind the 10-0 Vancouver NW Giants.

–The PG Tier 3 Midget Cougars won a 4-team minor hockey tournament in Vanderhoof with an overall 3-1 record. They beat Kitimat 4-3 in the final.
