DeBrouwer backstops his way to BCHL honour

The BCHL has recognized Prince George Spruce Kings goaltender Evan DeBrouwer by naming him Player of the Week.

In three playoff games against the Powell River Kings, the 21-year-old DeBrouwer stopped 114 of the 122 shots for a save-percentage (SV%) of 0.934 and a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.16.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Blenheim, Ontario is second in the league playoffs with a 1.96 GAA.

He is also fifth with a 0.925 SV% and first in shutouts with two.

DeBrouwer and the Spruce Kings visit the Wenatchee Wild on Friday and Saturday in the first two games of the Fred Page Cup final.

Games Three and Four in the best-of-seven series will be played in Prince George on Monday and Tuesday (April 16th and 17th).
