Fire Rescue crews respond to grass fire

Prince George Fire Rescue crews from two halls responded to a fire on the 4600 block of Zilkie Road Monday afternoon.

Around three, crews arrived to find a 100′ by 200′ grass fire which was contained and extinguished.

The blaze is being classified as accidental as it was caused by a spark from a power saw striking a nail in a piece of wood.

No property damage or injuries have been reported.

PG Fire Rescue is reminded resident there is no burning within city limits with the exception of recreational fires contained in a 2′ by 2′ fire pit. Only seasoned dry firewood is allowed and no yard waste or debris is allowed.
