The Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF) has handed out its Spring 2018 grants to 13 local organizations.
The season’s total came to more than $37,000 in endowments, eclipsing a record of $700,000 for non-profits in the Northern capital and surrounding areas since its inception nearly 25 years ago.
“It has become a very robust process for evaluating and choosing the best way to make the greatest amount of impact in our community,” says Catherine Pennington, PGCF Board Member and head of the Vital Signs report.
“Of course, we recognize and understand that there’s so many deserving organizations in Prince George, and it’s a very difficult challenge for our grants committee for sure.”

The next round of grant funding starts this Fall, and Pennington adds more money is on the way for applicants.
“There will be $40,000 available in Fall of 2018; it’ll be four, $10,000 grants that local organizations can apply for as an opportunity to support work in the four-study areas of the ‘vital signs’ program.”
She encourages all residents wishing to make a difference and strengthen the community to apply, explaining anyone is welcome to do so.
