We are now less than 100 days away from the Canada Winter Games in Prince George.
The Ignite the North torch relay made its way to the city and one of the Torcher Bearers Andrea McKenzie says it was “awesome” to be apart of the relay.
“It was wonderful the spirit and the camaradirie on the bus number one,” says McKenzie, “and everyone walking and cheering along the route it was very heart warming, very warm.”
Canadian Olympian and Canada Games Alumnus Catriona Le May Doan was the last runner to bring in the torch and says the games are about Canada coming together.
“It’s all of Canada, its every province, every territory coming to a place a lot that probably a lot of people have never been to before,” says Le May Doan, “and I’m going to say showing off, showing off your community and I think that’s something that people of Prince George and the Northern communities should be very proud of.”
Le May Doan says the games also bring inspiration to where ever it goes.
