Above seasonal temperatures to grace Prince George for a while

A beautiful stretch of weather is upon us in the Prince George area as we kick off some sunny conditions.

A strong ridge is moving across the province bringing warmer-than-normal highs for the next week.

“Looking at highs getting up to 25 degrees on Sunday, so the temperatures are going to increase two to three degrees each day – we’re looking at a high of 19 degrees today (Friday) and 22 for Saturday,” says Gregg Walters, Environment Canada Meteorologist.

“This is pretty well going to cover the entire province in the next few days as it is a strong upper ridge, so that will keep conditions warm everywhere, we are looking at getting well-above the seasonal norm and it will be a bit warmer further south but for this time of year it’s quite a warm stretch especially after we just had one last week.”

To say, the daily temperatures will be above seasonal for the next week would be an understatement.

“It should be sunny with clear skies and for this time of year, we will be about nine to ten degrees above the normal.”

The normal high for this time of year is around 16 degrees.

With the hotter weather on the horizon, residents are encouraged to take the necessary precautions if they play on being in the sun for several – this includes putting on a hat along with some sunscreen.
