The NHL East Final continues this evening (5PM) in Washington with the Capitals ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning, 2-1.

WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP: (in Denmark)  UPDATED AT 1:30PM

Canada beat Russia 5-4 in overtime in the quarter-finals today at the world hockey championship in Denmark.

Canada advances to the semis on Saturday against Switzerland, who nipped Finland 3-2.

The USA edged the Czech Republic 3-2 to advance to the semi-finals on Saturday against Sweden.

The Swedes knocked out Latvia today 3-2.

 

ROYAL BANK CUP JUNIOR HOCKEY: (in Chilliwack)

The round robin wraps up tonight at the Royal Bank Cup in Chilliwack.

The Wenatchee Wild, host Chiefs and the Ottawa Junior Senators have clinched a spot in the semi-finals Saturday.

The Prince George and Hart Judo Clubs sent 17 athletes to Calgary for the national judo championships that take to the mat today and run through Sunday.

The Prince George Knights have three round robin ball hockey games at the Interior Cup in Penticton, which is Western Canada’s largest adult ball hockey tournament.

Play begins Friday with playoffs to run Sunday.
