NHL: (4th game in the best-of-seven Western Conference Final)

Vegas Golden Knights  3  Winnipeg Jets  2

Golden Knights lead 3-1 with game five Sunday at noon in Winnipeg.

Marc-Andre Fleury had another spectacular game in the Vegas net with 36 saves.

The NHL East Final resumes tonight (4:15PM) in Tampa Bay with the Lightning and Washington Capitals even at 2-2.

Tampa was outshot 76-43 in Games Three and Four, and won them both.

 

WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP: (in Denmark)

Canada is up against Switzerland today (10:15AM PT) in the semi-finals of the world hockey championship in Denmark.

The winner advances to the gold medal game Sunday.

The other semi has the USA vs. Sweden (6:15AM today).

 

MEMORIAL CUP IN REGINA: (opening game in the four-team round-robin)

Regina Pats  3  Hamilton Bulldogs  2

Nick Henry scored with 32.6 seconds left in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie.

The Swift Current Broncos play their opener this afternoon against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

In the West, Houston plays at Golden State Sunday (5pm) with the Rockets and Warriors tied 1-1.

 

PG TEAMS AND ATHLETES THIS WEEKEND:

The volleyball club nationals continue until Tuesday in Edmonton.

The Prince George Kodiaks have a total of 13 teams competing in the 14-to-18 age groups.

The tournament is featuring 864 teams in 24 divisions.

The Prince George and Hart Judo Clubs have 17 athletes in Calgary for the national judo championships that wrap up Sunday.

The Prince George Knights are competing at the Interior Cup in Penticton, which is Western Canada’s largest adult ball hockey tournament.

Playoffs are scheduled for Sunday.
