–The Prince George Cougars extended their win streak to four games with a 3-2 victory over the Victoria Royals before 2,750 hometown fans. The line of Brad Morrison, Chance Braid and Jari Erricson combined for six points (two each) as the Cats improved to 11-8 and second place in the BC Division. The Cougars have won 7 of their last 8 home games. The two teams have a rematch tonight at 7 at CN Centre.

–The Prince George Spruce Kings scored three times in the final period to beat the Trail Smoke Eaters 5-3. The first place Spruce Kings continue their road trip against Interior Division teams tonight in Merritt and Sunday in West Kelowna.

–The first place Major Midget Cariboo Cougars have a pair of home games at CN Centre as they entertain the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds this afternoon at 12:45 and Sunday afternoon at 1:15.

–The PG Northern Cougars of the BC Female Midget Triple A Hockey League crushed the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers 7-1 in the first of a triple-header. The teams face off again today at 9:15am and Sunday at 8:45am at the Coliseum.

–The UNBC Timberwolves began their season in Canada West basketball losing to the TRU Wolfpack in Kamloops. TRU won the women’s game 85-55 and edged the T-wolves 84-80 in men’s action. The rematch tips off tonight in Kamloops.
