–The Prince George Spruce Kings had 42 shots but failed to score in a 5-0 Sunday loss to the West Kelowna Warriors. Scott Patton earned the shutout for the Warriors, who tallied four times in the first period. P.G. outshot West Kelowna 42-24. The 12-7-0-2 Spruce Kings went 2-1 on the road against Interior Division teams. They beat Trail 5-3 Friday and Merritt 4-3 Saturday. The Spruce Kings host Vernon Wednesday and Surrey Friday and Saturday.

–The Prince George Cougars are 11-9 after they split their two home games against the Victoria Royals. The Cougars won the Friday game 3-2 before the Royals came back with a 6-2 triumph Saturday which ended the Cats four game win streak. Attendance was 2,750 in the opener and 2,852 the next night at CN Centre. The Cougars host the 17-1-1 Kelowna Rockets Friday and Saturday.

–The Major Midget leading Cariboo Cougars won a pair of home games over the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds 8-1 Saturday and 4-1 Sunday. The 13-2-1 Cariboo Cats will host the second place Vancouver North West Giants Saturday and Sunday.

–The Prince George female midget Northern Cougars swept a triple-header over the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers. Scores were 7-1 Friday, 4-2 Saturday and 3-2 Sunday. The P.G. female midgets are in first place with a 16-2 record.

–The UNBC Timberwolves lost their openers in Canada West basketball. The TRU Wolfpack of Kamloops edged the UNBC men 84-80 Friday and 85-81 Saturday. TRU also whipped the Lady Timberwolves 85-55 Friday and 82-39 Saturday. UNBC will visit Fraser Valley Friday and Saturday before its home openers against Mount Royal November 21st and 22nd.

–Lavanna Laass of the Hart Judo club won a silver and a bronze at the Ontario Open in Whitby, Ontario. Laass, in the -63 kg class, placed second in Senior Women’s and third in the U21 Women’s. Kyle Wilkinson of the Prince George Judo Club finished with three wins and two losses in U18 boys -60 kg.

–The College Heights Junior Boys volleyball teams placed first and second at the North Central zone championship. In the final, College Heights “A” outscored College Heights “B” 25-12, 25-17 but both teams qualify for the Provincials in Kelowna November 20-22.
