NHL:

The NHL Eastern Conference champions will be determined tonight.

The Washington Capitals visit the Tampa Bay Lightning (5PM) in the seventh and deciding game.

Brett Connolly of PG has three points in the series.

Tampa is looking for its second Stanley Cup final berth under 50-year-old coach Jon Cooper of Prince George (previous was in 2014-15).

The winner will play the Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights starting Monday.

 

MEMORIAL CUP IN REGINA: (four-team round-robin)

Hamilton Bulldogs  3  Acadie-Bathurst Titan  2

Both Hamilton and Acadie-Bathurst are 2-1 followed by the host Regina Pats at 1-1 and the Swift Current Broncos at 0-2.

Regina and Swift Current meet tonight at 7 to conclude the round-robin.

If the Broncos win, both teams would meet again in a tie-breaker on Thursday.

Former PG Cougars defenceman Josh Anderson is part of the WHL-champion Broncos.

VANCOUVER GIANTS:

The Vancouver Giants have hired Barclay Parneta as the team’s General Manager, replacing Glen Hanlon.

Parneta spent the past eight seasons with the Tri-City Americans as assistant GM and Head Scout.

The Prince George Cougars and Kamloops Blazers are other WHL teams currently looking for a General Manager.

 

BALL HOCKEY:

The Prince George Knights placed second in the C Division (with an overall 3-2 record) at the Interior Cup men’s ball hockey tournament in Penticton.

PG lost the final 2-1, in overtime, against the Langley Jokers.

 

VOLLEYBALL:

The Prince George Kodiaks U-18 Red Boys tied for fifth at the volleyball club nationals in Edmonton.

They lost out in the quarter-finals of Tier One Division.

13 teams from the Prince George Youth Volleyball Club competed.

The PG U-15 Red Girls were eliminated in the quarter-finals of Tier Three Division one to finish 21st.

 

NBA: (Fourth game in the best-of-seven Western Conference Final)

Houston Rockets  95  Golden State Warriors  92

James Harden 30 points and Chris Paul 27 points to lead the Rockets who tied the series 2-2.

Game five will be played in Houston Thursday (6PM).

In the East, Cleveland plays at Boston tonight (5:30PM) with the series even 2-2.

The Celtics are 9-0 at home in the playoffs.

 

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  5  LA Angels  3

The 23-25 Blue Jays snapped a four-game losing streak.

Ex-Blue Jay Jose Bautista went 1-for-3 in his debut with the New York Mets, a 5-1 loss to the Florida Marlins.

Bautista, who was released on the weekend by the Atlanta Braves, has signed a one-year contract with the New York Mets for the $545,000 major league minimum.

 

PRINCE GEORGE SENIOR LACROSSE:

PG Senior Lacrosse tonight at 8 at Kin 1 features a pair of 4-2 teams, the Westwood Pub Devils against the RPR Mechanical/J.R. Construction Bandits.

They have split their first two meetings of the season.

The Bandits also face off Thursday in Quesnel against the Crossfire.
