Northerners still booking WestJet despite pending strike

WestJet pilots could issue a 72-hour strike notice at any time, leaving many people in limbo.

Those who in Prince George who have booked a flight through a travel agency are showing concerns about their trip potentially being cancelled.

But, for anyone who just needs to fly to Vancouver or other smaller destinations, Travel Advisor Suki Coles says you shouldn’t worry.

“With service between here and Vancouver it’s Encore and that pilot union isn’t going to be effected. It’s really only flights that are international or ones going to the US, Caribbean or Mexico that are going out of Vancouver for the people of Prince George”

Although this has created some frustration it hasn’t stopped individuals from booking with the company added Coles.

“For the most part, people coming in to book flights are still feeling confident with booking WestJet flights. It may have slowed down a bit because of the new, but I haven’t seen it effecting their choice between WestJet and other airlines.”

For those who may be effected by a strike, WestJet has offered to refund passengers.
