Pats advance to Sunday’s championship game against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

GAME ONE = Friday, May 18 – Hamilton Bulldogs vs. Regina Pats  (Regina won 3-2)
GAME TWO = Saturday, May 19 – Swift Current Broncos vs. Acadie-Bathurst Titan (Acadie-Bathurst won 4-3 OT)
GAME THREE = Sunday, May 20 – Regina vs. Acadie-Bathurst (Acadie-Bathurst won 8-6)
GAME FOUR = Monday, May 21 – Swift Current vs. Hamilton  (Hamilton won 2-1)
GAME FIVE = Tuesday, May 22 – Acadie-Bathurst vs. Hamilton (Hamilton won 3-2)

NHL:

The Stanley Cup Final between the Washington Capitals and the Golden Knights will open in Vegas Monday and Wednesday,

The series shifts to Washington on June 2nd and 4th.

The Caps are 8-2 on the road in the playoffs.

The Golden Knights are 6-1 at home in the post-season.

The Capitals team includes player Brett Connolly of PG and former Prince George Cougars head coach Lane Lambert as an assistant coach.

 

NBA: (Sixth game in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Final)

Cleveland Cavaliers  109  Boston Celtics  99

Lebron James hooped 46 points and he was one assist shy of a triple-double.

The series is tied 3-3 with the 7th and deciding game Sunday night (5:30 PT) in Boston.

The Celtics are 10-0 on home court in the playoffs.

In the West, Houston, up 3-2, plays tonight (6PM) at Golden State.

The Rockets will be without all-star point guard Chris Paul due to a right hamstring injury.

 

PGARA:

The Stock Car racing season at PGARA opens this evening with Turgeon Memorial Night.

The Canadian Tire Street Stocks, Chieftain Auto Parts Mini Stocks, and Tri-Par R.V. Rentals Hornets will be on the track starting with Time Trials at 6 with Racing to follow at 7.

 

POWERLIFTING:

The Canadian Powerlifting Federation Pro-Am features 65 lifters from across Western Canada.

The event takes place at X-conditioning, 505 Second Avenue.

Today (10:30AM to 4PM) is the Pro Day with $2,500 up for grabs in each category, making it the biggest cash powerlifting meet in the country.

Sunday (9AM to 4PM) is the Open Amateur Day.

 

PRINCE GEORGE SENIOR LACROSSE:

There are three games this weekend in PG Senior Lacrosse at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA).

The RPR Mechanical/J.R. Construction Bandits play the Mackenzie Lumberjacks tonight at 6:30, and that will be followed by the Westwood Pub Devils against the Quesnel Crossfire at 8:30PM.

The Sunday game at 11AM has the Co-op Petroleum Stylers against Mackenzie.
