Amnesty International to host event about Site C, Indigenous rights

Amnesty International is hosting an event to discuss the abuse of Indigenous rights in British Columbia and by Canadian mining companies in Guatemala.

Latest developments of the Site C dam court challenge will be reported on by West Moberly chief, Roland Wilson.

“We have applied for an interim injunction to suspend construction on the Site C dam and the federal government has withdrawn its opposition to that injunction,” he said in a statement.

“We are calling on the provincial government to do the same.”

The meeting is Wednesday at 7pm, in the Omineca Arts Centre in Prince George.
