The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars won a pair of games on home ice against the second place Vancouver North West Giants 5-1 (Saturday) and 4-1 (Sunday). The 15-2-1 Cougars enjoy a seven point lead over the 12-4 Giants in the BCMML. Cariboo will resume action when they host the third place Okanagan Rockets November 29th and 30th at Kin 1.

–The Prince George Cougars are 11-11 after they lost a pair to the WHL leading Kelowna Rockets. The Rockets scored three power play goals in each game as Kelowna won 6-3 Friday before 2,717 fans and 6-2 Saturday in front of a crowd of 2,902. The Cougars continue an eight game home-stand when they entertain the 8-12 Vancouver Giants Tuesday and Wednesday.

–The first place Prince George Spruce Kings knocked off the last place Surrey Eagles in a double-header at the PG Coliseum. Scores were 6-3 Friday and 5-2 Saturday. The 14-8-0-2 Spruce Kings have opened up a five point lead over Chilliwack and a six point advantage over Langley in the BCHL Mainland Division. The Spruce Kings visit Chilliwack Wednesday before hosting Alberni Valley on Friday.

–The UNBC Timberwolves are 0-4 in Canada West basketball after dropping a pair to the Fraser Valley Cascades. Fraser Valley beat the UNBC men 82-59 Friday and 62-60 Saturday. The Cascades whipped the Lady T-wolves 83-57 Friday and 81-57 Saturday. UNBC will entertain Mount Royal in their home openers Friday and Saturday at the Northern Sport Centre.
