New judge appointed to Northern BC

A new provincial court judge will be heading to our neck of the woods starting July 5th.

BC has appointed Judge Linda Thomas to the Northern region, which includes provincial courts in Prince George, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Smithers, Terrace, Masset, Prince Rupert, and Fort Nelson.

She was hired based on her extensive experience in First Nations government, non-profit organizations, and as a solo practitioner; her background also extends into child protection and family law mediation, as well as prison law.

Thomas also received a Bachelor of Laws degree from UBC in 2000.
