Prince George teams had top notch results in several age groups at the Joy Hoffman Memorial Ringette Tournament at the Kin Centres. Out of town teams were from Terrace, Houston and Quesnel.

–An offensive boost for the Prince George Cougars who host the Vancouver Giants tonight (Tuesday) and Wednesday. 20-Year-old sniper Zach Pochiro will be in the Cats line-up after he was reassigned by the St Louis Blues. Pochiro, who played eight games this season with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, has 105 points and 228 penalty minutes in 128 career games with the Cougars.

–With the addition of Pochiro, the Cougars have four overage players on their roster, one over the limit. The team has two weeks to get down to the maximum of three.

–The 11-11 P.G. Cougars are 5th in the Western Conference, however, just one point separates 5th from 9th. The last place Giants are six points back of the Cougars.

–The (14-8-0-2) Prince George Spruce Kings face off against the Chiefs Wednesday in Chilliwack before starting an 8-game homestand Friday against Alberni Valley. The Spruce Kings lead the BCHL Mainland Division by five points over Chilliwack and by six over Langley.

–The 15-2-1 Major Midget Cariboo Cougars have the bye this week in the BCMML. The league-leading Cougars will host the third place (11-4-1) Okanagan Rockets in their next action November 29th at 7:15pm & November 20th at 11:30am at Kin 1. Cariboo has the top three scorers in the BCMML. Austin Gray has 34 points (18G, 16A) and he is followed by Steven Jandric with 32 points (9G, 23A) and Colton Thomas with 28 (15 G, 13A).

–The B.C. High School football season is over for the Duchess Park Condors and the PGSS Polars. In the Provincial quarter-finals, Duchess lost 55-6 to Carson Graham while PGSS took it on the chin as well falling 41-0 to John Barsby.

–The Duchess Park Condors are 1-2 at the BC Boys Double A Soccer Championship in Burnaby. Duchess lost 1-0 to Brooks and 4-2 to Brookswood before posting a 4-0 win over David Thompson.

–The D.P. Todd Trojans won both the Sr boys and girls double-A zone volleyball championships to qualify for the Provincials starting November 26th. The D.P. Todd boys beat College Heights 3-1 in the final while the D.P. Todd girls whipped NVSS 3-0.

–College Heights knocked off Duchess Park 3-0 in the North Central triple-A senior girls volleyball zone final but both teams advance to the Provincials Nov. 27-29 in Parksville.

–The UNBC Timberwolves have their Canada West basketball home openers against the Mount Royal Cougars Friday night at the Northern Sport Centre. The women play at 6 followed by the men at 8. The rematch at the NSC will go Saturday at 5 and 7pm.
