Timberwolves add Lower Mainland recruit to their backcourt

The UNBC Timberwolves have added guard Chris Ross to their roster for the 2018-19 Canada West Men’s Basketball season.

The six-foot-three Ross led Seycove Secondary to a bronze medal at the 2018 BC boys AA provincial championship.

He earned tournament all-star distinction, on the heels of earning Most Valuable Player and leading-scorer honours in the North Shore League, and the Howe Sound Championship.

“I am really excited to be a part of the UNBC Timberwolves,” says Ross in a team statement.

“It has always been a goal of mine to play university basketball, and now I have this chance to take my game to the next level against better competition. I think what separates me from a lot of players is my ability to shoot the basketball from three-point range, or from the mid-range. Also, my hard work. I dive on every loose ball, I play physically, and I make sure my opponent doesn’t get where he wants to go.”

Ross has also been a member of Team BC on four occasions, including the chance to represent the Province at the Canada Summer Games in 2017.

With plans to study business and accounting at UNBC, Ross will arrive in Prince George in August to join his new teammates.
