The City of Prince George is paving nearly 12 lane kilometres this week throughout the northern capital. When complete, it will be the same as paving one lane from the middle of College Heights, past the University of Northern BC, and to Moore’s Meadow Nature Park, about an eleven minute drive.
The projects are:
- Foothills Boulevard from Chief Lake Road to 890 meters south (1.78 lane kilometres);
- North Kelly Road between Ferguson Lake Road and Blazer Road (2.42 lane kilometres);
- Hammond Avenue from Quinn Street to Kelly Street (1.15 lane kilometres);
- Kelly Street from 5th Avenue to the north end (1.24 lane kilometres);
- Nicholson Street from 2nd Avenue to Ogilvie Street (1.1 lane kilometres);
- Ogilvie Street from 5th Ave to Dezell Drive (1.61 lane kilometres);
- Quinn Street from 5th Ave to Dezell Drive (1.75 lane kilometres);
- Ruggles Street from 5th Ave to 1st Avenue (0.83 lane kilometres)
These projects are anticipated to be completed by the end of the week, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to look for alternate routes when possible and to drive with caution around road crews.
The City is starting eight new paving projects this week. When completed, the City will have nearly 12 lane km of newly paved road, enough to pave one lane from the middle of College Heights to Moore’s Meadow, which is about an 11 minute drive. https://t.co/Pm7PPuSGae pic.twitter.com/8xiwENZbEW
