Knights reach new heights in earning gold at Westerns

One week after winning the provincial title, the Prince George Surg Med Knights captured top spot at the Western Canadian U-18 AA Baseball Championships in La Broquerie, Manitoba.

Game MVP Richard French tossed a complete game shutout for the Knights, who skunked the Portage Pirates of Manitoba 10-0 in the Sunday afternoon final of the five-team tournament.

It is the first time in 12 years a team from BC has won this tournament.

The Knights placed second at last year’s Western Championship.
