One week after winning the provincial title, the Prince George Surg Med Knights captured top spot at the Western Canadian U-18 AA Baseball Championships in La Broquerie, Manitoba.
Game MVP Richard French tossed a complete game shutout for the Knights, who skunked the Portage Pirates of Manitoba 10-0 in the Sunday afternoon final of the five-team tournament.

It is the first time in 12 years a team from BC has won this tournament.
The Knights placed second at last year’s Western Championship.
Prince George went 3-1 in the round robin after a 14-8 victory Sunday morning over the host team (Carillon Sultans).
Earlier, the Knights beat Alberta (Beaumont Bosox) 6-5 Friday and Manitoba 3-1 Saturday morning, before dropping a 6-5 decision Saturday night against Saskatchewan (North West Prairie Pirates of Lloydminster).

The Prince George Grays finished 1-3 and last out of five teams at the Western Canadian Senior AA baseball championship in Moose Jaw.
The Grays whipped the Border All-Stars 18-5 on Sunday after dropping their first three round-robin games.
Prince George lost 11-2 against the St. James A’s of Manitoba, 14-8 against the Saskatoon Outlaws, and 9-6 vs. the Moose Jaw Padres.
The Border All-Stars took gold after a 5-4 victory over St. James in the final.
