PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS: (BCHL)

Prince George Spruce Kings  5  Coquitlam Express  3

Patrick Cozzi snapped a 3-3 tie with 3:56 left in the third and Ben Brar put one into an empty net, his second goal of the period.

Dylan Anhorn (1 + 2) and Corey Cunningham also tallied for the Spruce Kings in front of 731 fans in Prince George.

The Spruce Kings are the first 3-0 team in the BCHL.

Same two teams play again tonight at the RMCA as PG wraps up a four-game homestand.

 

PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Prince George Cougars conclude their pre-season schedule with a home game tonight against the Kamloops Blazers.

The Cougars are 3-1 in exhibition play.

Prince George will start its regular season with three road games beginning with a doubleheader against the Royals in Victoria on Friday, September 21st and Saturday the 22nd.

The Cougars home opener will take place on Friday, September 28th against the Kelowna Rockets.

 

CARIBOO COUGARS:

The Cariboo Cougars are one week away from starting their 40-game BCMML regular season.

The Major Midget Cougars host the Valley West Hawks September 22nd (4PM) and 23rd (10:30AM) at Kin 1.

Home opener for the UNBC women who are 1-1-1 on the season with their next game Sunday morning at 11 against the 0-0-3 Saskatchewan Huskies at Masich Place Stadium.

(CANADA WEST MEN’S SOCCER)

The 0-1-2 UNBC men’s soccer team will play its first road game of the season Sunday in Saskatoon against the
2-2 Saskatchewan Huskies.

The UNBC men will return home to face Lethbridge on Friday at 6PM on a night that will have the official re-opening of Masich Place Stadium.

 

CFL: (Week 14)

B.C. Lions  32  Montreal Alouettes  14

The Lions posted their first road win of the season but they lost quarterback Travis Lulay early in the game with a separated shoulder.

Alouettes quarterback Antonio Pipkin threw four interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns late in the game.

MUD BOGS:

The second annual Mud, Sweat and Gears Mud Bogs will be held today and Sunday from 10-6 at Nitro Motorsports Park.

Over 50 racers from all over B.C. are expected to compete.
