WATCH: Dry summer transitioning to warmer-than-normal Fall in PG

WATCH:

Summer 2018 in PG was the fifth driest on record according to Environment Canada, with only 100-millimetres of rain (175mm avg.).

The City only saw eight millimetres in August, its driest in 75 years thanks to the wildfires, but seasonal temperatures are returning for Fall.

“The Pacific [Ocean] is a bit warmer and that’s going to help drive a warmer-than-normal fall. Looking beyond that, as we get into the winter season, we’re looking at a weak El Niño and we should see warmer conditions at that time.”

– Matt McDonald, Meteorologist

Local residents can expect temps in the double-digits this week, hovering around 10 degrees for the weekend.
