A new President and Secretary-Treasurer have been selected for the BC Federation of Labour.
Former BCTF Head Irene Lanzinger was chosen as BC Fed President and BCGEU Northern Regional Coordinator Aaron Ekman was picked as Secretary-Treasurer.
Ekman says his role will see him responsible for the inner-workings of the federation.
“But its also a political position, its about decisions,” says Ekman, “and we’ve got a good team in the two officers that are there, myself and Irene Lanzinger who was elected president yesterday, and we’re both looking forward to working together and moving ahead.”

Ekman says he has worked with Lanzinger in the past.
He says their first order of business is to get BC minimum wage up to $15 an hour.
