Fire training at YXS may cause dark smoke

Don’t be alarmed if you see dark smoke coming from the Prince George Airport tomorrow.

Fire training is taking place at the airport on October 2nd, 9th, and 24th of this month.

Despite dark smoke in the area, which may seem concerning, the PG Airport Authority wants to remind residents that the fires pose no threat to the public or surrounding properties.

These training fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled conditions and are part of ongoing fire training and certification for Prince George Airport staff.    

Fire training is scheduled:

October 2, from 07:00 – 08:00 (7:00am to 8:00am) and 13:00 – 15:00 (1:00pm to 3:00pm)

October 9, from 07:00 – 09:00 (7:00am to 9:00am)

October 24, from 08:00 – 17:00 (8:00am to 5:00pm)
