Local author abbreviates history of rail line communities

A local author has penned a book about the 18 communities from here to Jasper.

Prince George Resident Ray Olson has written the book “Ghost Towns on the East Line.”

Olson says the East Line refers to the part of the Grand Trunk Pacific railway between Prince George and Jasper.

“Or Tete Jaune in that area,” says Olson, “and what I’ve done is I’ve abbreviated my east line, so I include all the communities that were established between Prince George and McBride.”

Olson says growing up and working on the East Line gave him the foundation to write this book.

The book is now available on local shelves.
